STATE OF THE NINJA

Latest news and ongoings with clients.

Been busy lately with a couple of clients greenscreen® & Quikflip®. Both uniquely different companies but with a common thread-amazing people. We were fortunate to have been able to work together and execute their projects for them.

greenscreen® is a company that provides modular trellis products for their clients. They were in need of some fresh photography of a client installation here in Los Angeles. Digital Ninja® was able to provide them with photography and photo editing to help them with their marketing needs.

With Quikflip®., we had a totally different target and project . The inventor and CEO of the company, Rener Gracie is a third generation jiu-jitsu master in the Gracie Family. He created a convertible jacket and it has been featured on  Shark Tank and also featured in Time Magazine. His team wanted to create a video on how to decorate on their line of products. So we shot down to San Diego and were welcomed by apparel printers, Duds by Dudes .

2020 was a bittersweet year. Digital Ninja® was able to finish a short movie, Make Believe (2020) and win some awards. There will be more on that later. 2021 has been a great. Please subscribe to the blog and get notifications in your email when there is a new post. Thanks for your support.

NEW CHANNEL: GEAR SHOGUN - The Comica VM20 Shotgun Microphone

The Comica VM20 Mic is a Swiss Army Microphone that can fulfill all of your production needs if you are a filmmaker or creator on a budget.

I was fortunate to have been able to play with this Shotgun Mic over the weekend. This mic does it all. For the price, all the features, and the accessories, the Comica VM20 is the perfect one mic solution to improve your production. It is a great shotgun mic, you can boom it in, or you can use it for Voice-over work, as well as being able to use it for foley or even to podcast.

I own a Rode VideoMic Pro and an Sennheiser MKE-400. The Rode takes a 9v and has a problematic battery door. The MKE is solid as a shotgun/scratch track mic and takes a AAA batt. Nether of them have a display to let me know how much battery is left and neither a step-less volume control. The VM20 is USB-C rechargable and will work off of a battery pack while charging. It charges fast and last days. At $129 its cheaper than the Videomic, VideoMic Pro, Videomic Pro+, VideoMic NTG, and the Deity V3.

It comes in a great case.

If you could only afford to get one mic that can do everything, this one even comes with a TRRS cable so you can record audio to your smartphone. It's a sexy package: mic, shock mount, foam windscreen, deadcat, TRS cable, TRRS Cable, and it all fits neatly in a nice hardcase. Might be replacing both the Rode and Sennheiser...
