Digital Ninja® isn’t just a brand — it’s a movement, powered by the creative genius of Jesse Dez. An award-winning videographer, photographer, and licensed drone pilot, Jesse is the mastermind behind some of the boldest visual content to hit the screen. Known for blending sharp storytelling with expert writing, editing, motion graphics, and design, he creates experiences that don’t just capture attention — they demand it.
Founded in 2003, Digital Ninja® has set the bar in video production, photography, and pre-production services. Based in the heart of Redondo Beach, CA Jesse has a deep connection to the Los Angeles community and is heavily involved in mentoring the next generation of creatives. From leading the Hands on Art initiative at Birney Elementary to working with young artists in Manhattan Beach’s Young at Art program, Jesse’s influence is as strong locally as it is globally. As a Cultural Arts Commissioner for Redondo Beach, he’s also shaping the future of the arts in his city, a role he's excelled in for the past three years.
Born near Washington, D.C., Jesse’s journey to the top started with a cum laude graduation from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in 2000, where he earned recognition for Best Digital and Print Portfolios. With his sights set on Hollywood, he moved West and earned his bachelor’s in film production from the University of Southern California’s famed Cinema-Television Production program. From there, he dove headfirst into the world of TV, working with Popular Arts both in the U.S. and internationally, as an Assistant Cameraman and Coordinator on reality shows for three years, quickly making a name for himself in larger-scale productions.
Jesse’s career hit its stride when he co-produced the award-winning short Solace (2006), featuring actors like Darryl Sabara (Spy Kids, The Polar Express, John Carter ), Margot Kidder (Superman, The Amityville Horror), Ed Lauter (King Kong, Cujo, Youngblood), with a voice-over by none other than Academy Award winner Kathy Bates (Misery, Titanic, Matlock. Not stopping there, Jesse made waves in the Mixed Martial Arts world, working with the high-profile American Top Team, founded by Dan Lambert and legendary Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Ricardo Liborio — a Black Belt under the iconic Carlson Gracie.
From 2007 to 2012, Jesse worked his magic as a coordinator in titles with yU+Co (300, I Think I Love My Wife, Norbit) and visual effects coordinator with Luma Pictures, where he streamlined processes on feature films (Hancock, City of Ember, Henry Poole is Here). He then partnered with Brooklyn Bridge Productions to adapt source material, write, and produce the television pilot Color of the Day, where he commanded the casting, crew coordination, and visual design.
Jesse’s portfolio continues to skyrocket with collaborations on some of the most notable independent and high-profile projects. He’s directed photography for music videos with AFM Records and Billy Graziadei (Biohazard, Billy Bio, Powerflo), shot major events like the NHL All-Star Fanfare, and teamed up with major brands including Mastercard and Kreate Inc. In 2020, he served as a lighting technician on Poetics, starring Omari Hardwicke of Power (2014 -2020) fame, collaborating with Brian Graden Media and Smoke & Mirrors.
2022 marked Jesse’s return to music video production with Billy Graziadei’s Turn the Wounds. As a licensed drone pilot, Jesse’s aerial footage has soared on projects like Swimming with Sharks (2022). He’s currently collaborating with Gracie University, working directly under Ryron and Rener Gracie, where he’s putting his skills to work as an editor and coordinator.
